The COVID NUMBERS … milestone for Elliot Lake

Friday was a milestone day for Elliot Lake in fighting COVID-19.

Dr. Tim diBortoli of the Elliot Lake Family Health Team administered dose 10,000 of COVID-19 vaccine at the main clinic at Collins Hall last Friday.

He says the milestone was symbolic of the success that the Elliot Lake vaccination clinic has had in protecting residents from the world-wide pandemic.

Meanwhile, Algoma Public Health is reporting a new COVID-19 case in the Sault Ste. Marie area.
Tested on Friday, the exposure category is unknown, the person is self-isolating, and all close contacts notified.
The region has been without an active case since the end of June.

Sudbury Public Health has had no new cases of COVID over the last week.

There are four active cases within the agency’s jurisdiction.
