By Rosalind Russell – Tim Hortons across the country, including their counterparts in McKerrow and Espanola, all took part in Camp Day 2022 on July 13, 2022.
Volunteers from the fire department, emergency services, the local food bank and others were all on site working the drive-thru, counter or washing windshields to raise funds to send local children to camp.
It is the first full in-person Camp Day with the pandemic affecting the last couple of years.
The final figures are not available as yet, but there is no doubt 20 to 24 children from our local area including Blind River, Espanola, Elliot Lake, McKerrow and Little Current will be going to camp this year, thanks to the generosity of the public.
