By Rosalind Russell – The Town of Espanola is mourning the loss of one of its most active volunteers.
Yves Carriere passed away in an ATV collision this past weekend.
In a statement, the Espanola Regional Hospital & Health Centre states Carriere was a member of the board and a strong advocate of providing the highest quality care to the community.
He was also a member of the Executive Committee and chaired several other committees throughout his time with the board.
The hospital has lowered its flags to half-mast to honour him.
The Town of Espanola also acknowledged his active role as the vice-chair of the local police board lowering the municipal flags on Monday.
Funeral arrangements are being finalized.
He was 61.
