By Rosalind Russell – Indigenous and Northern lovers of the game will have a voice at the table when it comes to the Hockey Canada Board of Directors with the election of a well-known Wiikwemkoong woman.
Not only is she the President of Anishnawbe Health of Toronto, but Marian Jacko is also the President of the Little Native Hockey League.
She had decades of coaching experience with the league, Aboriginal Hockey Championships and Ontario Summer Games and is currently the head coach of the U18A team out of North York.
Jacko is looking forward to helping to develop a comprehensive plan to grow the game on both a local level, focusing on Northern and Indigenous input, but also on the national level.
