By Rosalind Russell – The Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service and the Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police Crime Unit are investigating a death in the community.
Constable Jessica Gilbertson says on April 29th, shortly after 11:00 p.m., the local police service and the Manitoulin-Sudbury Paramedic Services responded to a person in medical distress on Henry Street in Wikwemikong Unceded Territory.
She says the person was transported to hospital where they were later pronounced deceased.
Gilbertson says the investigation continues.
