By Rosalind Russell – Highway Six was closed yesterday due to a serious motor vehicle collision.
Manitoulin OPP says the highway was closed near Hopkins Hill around 11 am yesterday morning.
Constable Berkley Parisien says two vehicles, a passenger vehicle and a commercial box van, were involved in the crash that injured four people.
She adds the extent of the injuries is still being determined, adding one person was airlifted by an ORNGE Air ambulance.
There was no detour available and the main highway between Espanola and Manitoulin Island was closed for several hours stranding motorists for several kilometres along the route.
Parisien says the investigation is continuing. Photo provided
