Elliot Lake to be featured on television show highlighting history and revitalization

By Rosalind Russell – Elliot Lake will be featured on a summer television show sharing local history.

TV Ontario filmed an episode on Elliot Lake last summer for Crossroads: Beyond Boom & Bust”.

Janice MarteIl, who headed up the McIntyre Powder Project, and some of the mine workers are part of the film.

Martell says she was interviewed for this episode bringing focus to the mining history of the region and the ramifications the industry had, as well as how the city has rebranded itself a retirement destination.

She says the Elliot Lake episode premieres on Friday, July 4.

Other municipalities being featured this summer include Sturgeon Falls, Markdale, and Creemore.
