Espanola hospital staffers take on threat assessment training

By Rosalind Russell – The Espanola Regional Hospital and Health Centre recently undertook some focused training on threat assessment.

According to the release, staffers took on Violence Threat Risk Assessment, which is a protocol used by hospitals, schools and the wider community.

A crucial part of the programming is to identify, assess, manage threats of violence or harm, and put into place protocols to handle different scenarios.

The overall goal is to de-escalate probable violence in the hospital setting.
