Rail, pipelines and ports

By Rosalind Russell – Strengthening interprovincial trade, driving infrastructure development, and building new pipelines and rail lines.

Those were the highlights of two Memorandum of Understandings that were signed by the Premiers of Alberta and Ontario yesterday.

Premier Doug Ford says in the face of Trump’s tariffs and on-going economic uncertainty, Canadians need to work together to build the infrastructure that will diversify trading partners and end the dependence on the U-S.

According to provincial officials, work will be done collaboratively to launch a joint feasibility study this year to help move private sector lead investments in rail, pipelines and ports.

The two premiers previously signed MOUs in early June, opening up trade between both provinces.
