By Rosalind Russell – Doug Downey, the Attorney General of Ontario, has announced the appointment of seven new judges to the Ontario Court of Justice, who all began their new duties yesterday.
Of the seven, three have been assigned to Sudbury, and all three are women.
Justice Tanya Farkouh Martin was called to the Ontario bar in 2005 after earning her law degree from the University of Windsor.
Justice Caroline Thibault was called to the Ontario bar in 1999.
She graduated from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law.
Justice Kara Vakiparta was called to the Ontario bar in 2003 and earned her law degree from Queen’s University.
The four other judges have been assigned to courts in North Bay, Cornwall, Belleville and Brampton.
