By Rosalind Russell – Conseil scolaire Grand Nord is hosting its annual soccer tournament for French-language schools in Northern Ontario early next week.
Sixty-six teams from Parry Sound, French River, and the Sudbury region will take part in the tournament at the Howard Armstrong Recreation Centre in Hanmer (4040 Elmview Drive, Hanmer). This event will showcase mixed teams and bring together over 1,000 soccer enthusiasts from various schools.
Grades seven and eight will compete September 30th, Grades five and six on October 1st, and Grades three and four on October 3rd.
The matches will provide an excellent opportunity for young athletes to demonstrate their talent, develop their skills, and promote camaraderie and team spirit in a French-speaking environment.
