By Grant Lewis – As part of their Food Studies at E.H.S., these students have a unit on food insecurity in their community. And what better place to learn than at The Helping Hand Food Bank. After dropping off hundreds of pounds of food collected during a very successful Hallowe’en food drive, these students spent an hour learning the criteria to use the food bank, the choices of available food, the many outreach programs provided by the food bank, and costs involved. Their brief visit gave them a good insight as to how food and monetary donations are used.
