Free curling open house to give you a taste of the sport

By Rosalind Russell – The Elliot Lake Granite Sport & Social Club is hosting a free Curling Open House tomorrow, (Saturday, December 13th) from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Paul Noad says families, beginners, and experienced curlers alike are to take part in the opportunity to try curling, meet club members, learn about league play, and explore the facility in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

He adds it is also a festive celebration and between 12 noon and 2 pm, there will be a special ‘green’ guest for photo opportunities with participants.

Noad says the club hopes to introduce more residents to the sport and encourage healthy living through the winter.

Helmets are required for all children participating on the ice.

Clean indoor shoes must be worn by everyone stepping onto the playing surface.
