By Rosalind Russell – An annual fundraiser to assist a local resident in the Elliot Lake area has sold out, but donations to help the family are still appreciated.
Vince Ucci, the organizer of the annual event, says the 17th Gregorpalooza is honoring 32-year-old Sandra Lefebvre, a dedicated nurse and proud mother of two, who moved to Elliot Lake with her family in 2019.
He says Sandra was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer this year, which has spread to her lymph nodes and liver, so she has countless trips to Sudbury and Toronto for ongoing treatment.
Ucci says that has affected the family’s income and that is where Gregorpalooza comes to the forefront.
The event, which is being held at the Collins Hall this weekend, December 20th, is sold out but Ucci says any donations to assisting the Lefebvre family will help them through Sandra’s continued care in 2026.
He adds Gregorpalooza is an annual fundraising event held in Elliot Lake to help an individual or family from the community who is in need and over the last 16 years, has been successful in raising over $225,000 donated directly to the annual recipients.
