Central Manitoulin Family Health Team relocating following flooding

By Rosalind Russell – The Central Manitoulin Family Health Team will be relocating its offices until this fall following severe damage to their offices at the Manitoulin Health Centre’s Mindemoya site.

According to the release, back on December 18th, a flood caused by a failure of the sprinkler system in the lower level of the hospital forced the closure of the health team offices.

Assessors have been on the site and due to the extensive damage, the space will not be retrofitted by the fall, so the team has now moved temporarily to the Freshwater Community Church in Mindemoya.

There is still no final costing of the damages and repairs, but the lower level will have to be gutted and completely rebuilt before the team will be able to return.

Patients can contact the health team via phone, which is available on our websites.

Staff has no reception area, so patients are asked to call 705-377-5371 for appointments and confirmations.
