Laurentian University union meets with strikers will today following mediation talks

By Rosalind Russell – Mediation talks between Laurentian University and members of the faculty association returned to the bargaining table over the last two days.

According to the release, the union, which has around 450 full- and- part-time members, will meet with them today to share the results of the negotiations.

Union members went on strike on January 19th, so the university had to cancel all its classes until the impasse is resolved.

The main issue deals with the pension plan provided by the university with members wanting another plan to put in place not directly involving the institution.
