By Rosalind Russell – The Ontario government is providing $479,603 through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation to help the Mindemoya Curling Club upgrade its facility.
The Mindemoya Curling Club, a volunteer-run not-for-profit organization, is using the funding to replace its aging ice plant including the removal of a portion of an exterior wall and the pouring of a cement pad for the new plant, purchase new stones and erect a new scoreboard.
Originally built in 1960, the club extended a thank you to Algoma-Manitoulin MPP Mike Rosenberg for presenting the good news in person late last week.
