By Rosalind Russell – The Nickel District Kennel Club Incorporated will be hosting the premier national dog competitions this weekend.
Club spokesperson, Richard Paquette, says the three days of furry competition will be held tomorrow, through to Sunday at the Toe Blake Memorial Arena (70 Government Road) in Coniston.
He says there will feature over 200 Canadian Kennel Club registered purebred show dogs from across Canada vying for championship titles and ranking points to determine Canada’s # 1 dog.
He adds spectators will also have an opportunity to mingle with the exhibitors, dog breeders and dogs while enjoying a great learning experience into the world of purebred dogs, training and breeding.
The competitions will be held 9 am to 4 pm daily. No family pets are allowed on the grounds.
The entry fee is $5 per adult, children, $2 an accompanied by and adult, and seniors over 55, are free.
