By Rosalind Russell – A workshop to assist high school students understand what the medical field requires was held in Blind River this week.
Students at École secondaire catholique Jeunesse-Nord in Blind River had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of medicine and clinical practice through an interactive workshop delivered by Northern Ontario Medical School University Tuesday.
During the hands-on session, students learned and practised basic suturing techniques, explored the use of medical equipment, and were introduced to key medical terminology.
The workshop also provided valuable insight into the components of a professional portfolio required for admission to a medical program, helping students better understand pathways into the medical field.
