By Rosalind Russell – The work continues on Rogers Arena in Elliot Lake, on budget and on schedule.
Chris Perry of Perry & Perry Architects says the new knee braces to reinforce the roof trusses have all been installed, so the temporary shoring towers have now been removed.
He adds work has begun on the concrete apron, which surrounds the ice pad to allow for the floor to be compacted and leveled, clearing the way for the new rink boards and stands to be installed.
The work also continues on the lobby and the building’s façade.
He says with being on schedule and if everything continues to go smoothly, the facility will open for September.
