By Rosalind Russell – The Espanola Elks have teamed up with the Espanola Lions Club for a special fundraising project.
Beth McVey, who volunteers with both, says the goal is to raise $50,000 for medical endoscopic equipment for the Manitoulin Health Centre’s two hospitals located in Little Current and Mindemoya.
McVey adds the equipment will assist health practitioners to carry out exams and diagnose patients without having to travel to other hospitals.
She says a special concert will be held in mid-June at the Elks hall featuring the music of old greats, such as Buddy Holly and Elvis Presley led by Gavin Rousseau Tributes.

Tickets are $40 before June 1st, $50 after, the event runs from 7:30 pm to midnight and will be held at the Elks Hall in Espanola on Friday, June 19th. Contact McVey on Facebook or any Elks or Lions member.
