By Rosalind Russell – The Town of Espanola capped off National Volunteer Week sharing an evening of sweet treats and entertainment with around 100 local volunteers last night.
Town staff were on hand to greet local volunteers from various organizations in Espanola including the Elks, the Lions, the Legion, hospital auxiliary, senior and youth groups, food bank and so many more.
Town CAO Joseph Burke, Mayor Doug Gervais and Councillor Aidan Kallioinen also shared words of thanks to the volunteers for the work they carry out throughout the year.
Catering was by Laura’s Buns, delicious, and from the rush to the treat table, you know it was good and the evening capped off with the magical talents of illusionist Ken Margoe who was absolutely delightful.
Various members of the audience got to participate in his magic.
Thank you to all the volunteers throughout our area and thank you to the Town of Espanola for hosting a superb evening.
