
By Rosalind Russell – The First Annual Manitoulin Community Safety Day is set for this coming weekend, with dozens of safety providers participating.
Co-organizer Kevin Spike says the day will feature over 40 safety organizations ranging from police to medical services, fire and health care workers will be on site at the Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands Recreation Centre.
The day will feature all kinds of demonstrations as well, including drones, the K9 unit, and even a truck zone.
Spike emphasizes the event is for the entire family and runs from 10 am to 4 pm.
The Community Safety Day is free, but donations to the food bank are appreciated.
