CSC Nouvelon schools receive EcoSchools Canada certifications

The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon says eight of its schools have been rewarded with an EcoSchools Canada certification for the 2025-2026 school year.

According to education director, Tom Michaud, the national recognition highlights their commitment to promoting environmental learning and support of sustainability and climate action.

He says La Renaissance in Espanola is one of three to receive platinum level certification while Georges Vanier in Elliot Lake, Sainte-Anne in Spanish and Saint-Joseph in Blind River all received participation recognition.

Michaud adds, in all, the 26 schools within the board took a proactive role this school year to form environmental clubs led by students and staff and carried out projects with ecological impact.
