By Rosalind Russell – Canada-US trade minister Dominic Leblanc is back in Washington, D.C. this week alongside Canada’s Chief Trade Negotiator Janice Charette.
They’re in the American capital ahead of the August 19 deadline for 50% tariffs announced by the U-S coming into effect.
In a social media post, Leblanc says they met with United States Trade Representative Jamieson Greer yesterday (Tues).
He says discussions remain ongoing, and they continue to engage at the negotiation table to firmly advance and defend Canadian interests.
