By Rosalind Russell – The federal government is also introducing a new initiative, one that focuses on early childhood educators.
Minister of Jobs and Families Patty Hajdu says $5.4 million in funding will support the hiring and retention of early childhood educators and remove barriers across Canada.
Along with building on current efforts to support educators, she says the initiative will update the National Occupational Standards, improve labour market information, and modernize workforce tools.
Hajdu adds efforts will support career growth, mentorship, and professional development opportunities, helping more educators build long-term careers while supporting a strong, high-quality early learning and child care system.
