By Rosalind Russell – The Espanola Royal Canadian Legion Branch #39 will be hosting the All Candidates Night in Espanola for this year’s municipal election.
Incumbent Mayor Douglas Gervais is being challenged by incumbent councillor Aidan Kaillionen.
There are also ten people running for one of the six positions on council, including three incumbents: Deputy Mayor Angela Kelly, Gerry Massicotte and Lara Wahamaa.
The other candidates are Sue Allen, Alfred Foucault, Dennis Lendrum, Michael Pichor, Benjamin Shipton, Trevor Tilston and Maureen Van Alstine.
The participants will be available to present their campaigns and answer questions from the general public.
The moderator will be retired Espanola High School teacher Dave Gallant.
The public is invited to take part on Thursday, October 1st, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Legion Hall.
