By Rosalind Russell – You can bring light, love, and hope to dispel the darkness of blood cancers, according to Elliot Lake volunteer, Darla Hennessy.
Hennessy says at the Light The Night event coming to the city next month, the blood cancer community will gather to show those affected by a blood cancer that they are not alone.
She adds it’s a time to celebrate donors, supporters, volunteers, and loved ones lost, and people can go solo or form a team to take part.
She emphasizes that even though she is participating in memory of her grandson, Elijah, who passed away last year, it’s also about the spirit of giving back to the community.
Hennessy says funds raised support life-enhancing research, educational resources, services and support for those affected by blood cancers.
The event takes place at the Collins Hall on October 10 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and the public is invited to take part and donate.
