By Rosalind Russell – The Espanola Regional Recreation Complex and the adjacent track and field oval were abuzz with activity last Friday as part of the Third Annual Harvest Day hosted by Noojmowin Teg.
Students from Espanola High School and A. B. Ellis Public as well as the public took in a variety of displays showing traditional Indigenous arts, crafts and food production.
Participants were able to learn hunting skills with hoops and cross bows, see how natural ingredients like blueberries and duck could be tasty and nutritious, as well as crafting tie-dye shirts, and more.
