By Rosalind Russell – La Renaissance in Espanola joined their counterparts last Friday celebrating their Francophonie heritage.
The school’s students and staff attended a flag-raising at Espanola’s municipal hall last Friday, which also included a cultural presentation by students, flag-raising and singing songs of pride in their French heritage.
Espanola CAO Joseph Burke was joined by staff and council in celebrating the gathering with the group.
Franco Ontarian Day 2026 is celebrated in Ontario, with community events and festivals with the celebration tied to September 25.
