United States mid-term elections show major shift

By Rosalind Russell – There’s a shift in power in Washington with the Democrats announcing they’ve won majorities in both the Senate and US House of Representatives.

Mid-term elections were held yesterday (Tues) in the United States.

The Associated Press says crucial senate seats are projected or have flipped to the Democrats in Maine, Iowa, Kansas, North and South Carolina, Ohio and Texas.

US President Donald Trump took to social media to say if he was on the ballot the Republicans would’ve won in a landslide, later saying he’s willing to work with Democrats, then later touted his veto powers.

Democrats would take charge in January.

They could then block legislation and lead investigations into Trump’s administration.
