By Rosalind Russell – A cross-sector initiative that looks to disrupt or degrade key enablers that fraudsters and criminals rely on to commit their crimes is underway this week.
Those enablers include malicious email addresses, phone numbers, bank accounts and cryptocurrency accounts.
Maple Disruption 2.0 started on Monday, with over 50 partner organizations working with the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre and the RCMP’s National Cybercrime Coordination Centre.
Groups include law enforcement, financial institutions, telecommunications services, tech companies, government agencies, and others.
