By Rosalind Russell – The minimum wage goes up 40 cents today.
Ontario’s minimum wage is being raised to $17.60 an hour.
The province’s increase is based on the Ontario Consumer Price Index – a measure of inflation that represents changes in prices experienced by consumers.
The raise means those on minimum wage will get an extra 832 dollars a year, or about 70 dollars more a month.
