NATIONAL DOG DAY: CELEBRATING THE DOGS OF THE MANITOULIN OPP DETACHMENT

(MANITOULIN, ON) – In recognition of National Dog Day, the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is highlighting a different kind of support system – our member’s dogs.

Policing can be demanding, and the ability to decompress off duty is essential. For many of our officers, their dogs provide that balance. Whether it’s a quiet companion after a long shift, or a reason to get outside and reset, these dogs play a meaningful role in the lives of police officers and other first responders.

To mark the day, we are sharing a collage featuring the dogs of our detachment. This is a good reminder that wellness comes in many forms, including four-legged ones. And these are the faces that our officers look forward to coming home to each day.
