The 2026 Tournoi des Étoiles showcases school hockey


By Rosalind Russell – This week, Sudbury came alive with the excitement of hockey as over 600 players, coaches, and chaperones from across the province gathered for the 17th edition of the Tournoi des Étoiles, organized by Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord.

Organized as one of the largest school tourneys in the province, teams of Grade 7 and 8 students from French-language schools across Ontario showcased their talent competing for top honors in their respective divisions.

Winning Teams:


A Division:

École Notre-Place, Val Thérèse – Gold 

École St-Pierre, Sudbury – Silver 

École Saint-Thomas-d’Aquin, Astorville & École Élisabeth-Bruyère, Mattawa – Bronze 

AA Division:

École Sainte-Marie, Temiskaming Shores – Gold 

École St-Joseph, Sturgeon Falls – Silver 

École Anicet-Morin, Timmins – Bronze 

AA Elie Division:

École Félix-Ricard, Sudbury – Gold 

École Notre-Dame-du-Sault, Sault Ste. Marie – Silver 

École Algonquin (B), North Bay – Bronze 

AAA Division:

École Macdonald-Cartier, Sudbury – Gold 

École Alliance St-Joseph, Chelmsford – Silver 

École St-Augustin, Garson & École Notre-Dame de la Merci, Coniston – Bronze
