Webbwood’s Remmington “Remmie” William Goodchild remembered for his decade of service

By Rosalind Russell – A Webbwood man was remembered by local area fire departments and other service providers last Friday.

Remmington Goodchild, known as Remmie, passed away on August 28th.

He had a career in the lumber industry, but it was his dedication to the Sables-Spanish River Fire Department that marked his legacy.

Firefighters, paramedics, police officers and others took part in an honourary parade on Friday, which began in Espanola and ended in his hometown of Webbwood as a tribute to his decades of service.

Goodchild had been with the Sables-Spanish Rivers Fire Department for 40 years and was also a long-time active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

There will be a Celebration of Life at the Webbwood Eagles on September 20th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

He was 77.
