By Rosalind Russell – The Knight Cruisers Car Club is presenting their 20th Annual Cruise-In at the Espanola Regional Recreation Center on Saturday, May 27th.

One of the volunteers, Pat Parker says this event has grown to include a Craft Fair inside the Arena on the same day as well as the Plant Sale by the Espanola Gardeners and the Mason’s Breakfast and Elk’s Barbecue.

Parker says there is a first-time event with the club hosting a Poker Run for cars on the Friday night, May 26th.

He says those who take part will drive to a variety of various locations in the Espanola area and get a card at each stop.

Whoever has the best hand, wins!

He adds now, cars without on-board computers and ‘limp mode’ are hard to find so instead of blowing up a motor, this year we will see an old car torn apart by the Jaws of Life with the demonstration provided by the Espanola Fire Department.

Thanks to Dan’s Towing for delivering and removing these cars.

This will also be the first year the event will be held under the guidance of the new club President, Richard Stroud.  Ian Karvonen, still active in the club, is taking a much-deserved break after many years of club leadership.

Parker adds the club appreciates the support of the major sponsors; McQuarrie Motors, Giant Tiger, Napa, and Canadian Tire, and other local businesses, as well as the organizations which are taking part enhancing the annual show of chrome and leather.
