By Rosalind Russell – The City of Elliot Lake has temporarily halted the interior work to Rogers Arena until the foundation work is completed.
At last week’s (July 28th) council meeting, city staff provided an update on the Rogers Arena project to clarify its current status, outline remaining work, and set realistic expectations for timelines and next steps.
The interior repairs have been temporarily paused and will resume once the foundation work is complete.
Staff reports that work is progressing well and is expected to conclude by the end of August.
Next steps also include a review of the Life Safety Audit Report, which council will also review later this month including making decisions on the recommendations presented in the report.
Mayor Andrew Wannan reiterated that council remains committed to reopening Rogers Arena in a safe and efficient manner.
