Ground-breaking ceremony to be held today for new housing in Elliot Lake

By Rosalind Russell – Elliot Lake dignitaries will be joined by Chief and Council of Serpent River First Nation for a ground-breaking ceremony on a new housing development today.

According to city EDO, Steve Antunes, the ceremony will be held at 80 Dieppe Avenue with attendees breaking ground on 21 townhouses.

Antunes says this a great development in and for Elliot Lake representing the largest addition of homes since the cottage lot development several years ago.

He add the city is thrilled to not only see the new investment, but also for the opportunity to partner with the First Nation in being a part of the city’s growth.

The ground-breaking ceremony will be held this afternoon (Monday, August 25th) at four pm and the public is invited to attend.
