By Rosalind Russell – Cultural Industries Ontario North is once again looking to recognize northern artistic excellence in film, music and media arts.
Nominations are now open for the Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards.
There are 14 categories, including outstanding album to songwriter, outstanding feature film, actor and more.
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony and conference next spring in Sudbury.
The multi-day event, which officials say set new highs for attendance and artist submissions last year, also features live music, short film screenings, workshops and more.
Mississaugi First Nation songster, Evan Redsky, brought attention to the awards last year winning Outstanding Album by an Indigenous Artist, for his work on Oblivion, with most winners in other categories coming out of North Bay.
