Survey underway for climate action in Espanola

By Rosalind Russell – The Town of Espanola is gathering input from community members to help create a Climate Action and Adaption Plan through an online survey.

According to the release, the plan will identify the types of extreme weather events (such as floods, wildfires, extreme storms, extreme heat and drought) that may impact the Town of Espanola over the next 30 years and where impacts are mostly likely to occur.

It will also identify the potential for extreme weather events to damage buildings and infrastructure and to negatively impact the natural environment, human health, and well-being.

The public is invited to provide their feedback which will be used to identify practical actions that residents, businesses and local government can take during and immediately after extreme weather events.
