
By Rosalind Russell – The plans for the 75th Espanola High School Anniversary are nearing completion with the agenda set by the committee yesterday.
Various organizations have come together to take part in the two-day event on July 3rd and 4th including the Knight Cruisers Club, Espanola Elks, Espanola Lions and Anishinabe Spiritual Centre.
Registration forms will be available later this week and the deadline to register is set for June 1st.
There is a mix of family and adult entertainment planned.
On the evening of Friday, July 3rd, there will be opening ceremonies, and a wine and cheese gathering at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex.
Saturday, July 4th will include golf and pickleball for those who are interested in athletic pursuits, while others can take in a breakfast at the complex, a Cruise-In hosted by the Knights Cruisers Club of Espanola, barbecue by the Espanola Lions Club, and a spaghetti dinner hosted by the Espanola Elks.
Attendees can also take part in a Family Picnic Day at the Anishinabe Spiritual Centre, which will include swimming, canoeing, family activities, and vendors will also be on site featuring Indigenous art work and crafts.
The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #39 will also be hosting a social afternoon and meat roll-off highlighting its ongoing relationship with the high school, including its bursary program and welcoming members.
Attendees can also take in the annual LaCloche Art Show in Whitefish Falls, which will be featuring student’s art.
The day will be capped off with a dance and the closing ceremonies.
