By Rosalind Russell – Manitoulin Health Centre is currently managing a flood-related infrastructure issue at the Mindemoya site that has impacted water and sewer services.
According to the release, the hospital began operating under a Code Grey (Infrastructure) yesterday morning and has implemented temporary measures to ensure the continued safety of patients and staff.
The hospital remains open and operational, with a focus on providing urgent and essential care services.
Outpatient services are currently affected, as it is an organizational priority to reserve available resources for inpatients and the Emergency Department. Patients will be contacted directly if their appointments are impacted.
To support safe operations during this time, Manitoulin Health Centre is asking for the public’s support:
· Please postpone non-urgent visits where possible
· Consider alternative care options, such as primary care providers or virtual care
· Limit visitors to essential only
