Inaugural Espanola High School Eco-Fair highlight for Earth Day

By Rosalind Russell – Hundreds of students took in the inaugural Espanola High School Eco-Fair, as part of Earth Day 2026.

Businesses, volunteer organizations and educational institutions spent the day with students talking about job opportunities related to the environment sector and what they can do to volunteer and help local organizations, such as wildlife refuges and more.

Several classes also took the time to don gloves and clean up the grounds around the school.

This year, the fair was only open to students, but next year, organizers plan to open the event up to other schools and the wider public.
