NAV sets up restricted zone for drones in Espanola

By Rosalind Russell – Private drone owners will no longer be able to fly their drones in the Town of Espanola now that NAV Canada has instituted a restricted zone over the municipality.
Founded in 1996, NAV Canada focuses on safety of air space as a top priority.
Officials say they work with navigation service providers worldwide to identify potential risks and manage them.
The operation of drones, also known as Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPAs), is increasing at a fast pace, both recreationally and commercially and as new applications for drones increase, more regulations will come into play.
A drone owner is also required to register their drone through the Transport Canada site.
For information on drones, the regulations and registration visit: https://tc.canada.ca/en/aviation/drone-safety/registering-your-drone
Once registered, you’ll receive a unique registration number that will need to be clearly marked on your drone before flying it.
This comes with a couple of benefits; lost drones can now be traced back to their owners and recall notices can be sent to you.
