By Rosalind Russell – It was a busy Tuesday for several community and business leaders who came together to offer their stories of their careers to students at Espanola High School.
Co-ordinator Aisha Hussain says Ontario’s new Career Coaching initiative was introduced last year providing grade nine and 10 students the opportunity to talk to people in their own community about career options.
She says the participants included political and municipal staff, real estate, social and medical services, and media.
Hussain adds coaches rotated from table to table to talk to small groups of students who were encouraged to ask questions and share their future aspirations.
Anyone wishing to know more about the program and/or becoming a coach can contact Hussain for more information via email at: ahussain@hiec.on.ca
