By Rosalind Russell – Despite the rain this past Saturday, the newly revived Kiwanis Club of Elliot Lake, hosted a successful Community Cleanup in and around the Kiwanis Park.
Vice-president Erin Brunelle, who also owns the Tim Hortons franchise in the city, was also on hand to present the $17, 913 from this year’s Smile Cookie Campaign.
She says as a parent, she was interested in joining the Kiwanis Club because she wanted to see more efforts focused on supporting the youth in the community.
President Jay Chiasson adds their plan for Kiwanis Club of Elliot Lake is to one day provide a permanent location to provide an indoor playground, and host community events and fun activities drop ins for kids of all ages for years to come.
