Intergovernmental Round Table focusing on closure of Interfor’s Nairn Sawmill

By Rosalind Russell – Government leaders including Nickel Belt MPP France Gélinas will be attending an Intergovernmental Round Table Meeting focusing on the closure of the Nairn Center sawmill tomorrow.

She says the discussion will focus on the recent announcement that Interfor is indefinitely idling the sawmill and planer in Nairn Centre.

The idling of the mill is expected to take place over the next couple of weeks once all the stock has been cleared off the site.

Gelinas says the conversations will centre on the impacts on the community and across the LaCloche Foothills region.

The meeting takes place at 3 pm, tomorrow (Friday) at the Nairn Community Centre.
