By Rosalind Russell – The annual Law Enforcement Torch Run in support of Special Olympics gets underway in our local area today.
According to the release, members of Special Olympics, the Greater Sudbury Police, and more will all take part in the run in Greater Sudbury today.
Special Olympics Ontario is the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police charity of choice and police services across Ontario participate in a variety of events as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run each year including the Polar Plunge, the run, and Torch Run Rides.
Manitoulin OPP Constable Berkley Parisien says a Torch Run is also in the planning stages for Manitoulin Island.
