
By Rosalind Russell – The City of Elliot Lake is launching a new initiative in economic development and wants public input.
According to the release, working with McSweeney and Associates McSweeney, an Ontario-based consulting firm, staff is preparing a new five-year strategy to help guide the future of economic development in the city called Moving Forward with Purpose.
As part of the initiative, the city has put together a survey to help residents of Elliot Lake provide their ideas and comments.
The city is also hosting two open houses this Thursday at City Hall, the first from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., the second from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
A local resident Working Group has also been established to help guide the strategy.
